The First Anatomy and Histoembryology Drawing Competition for Undergraduates in School of medicine was Successfully Organized

On January 8th, 2019, our School of medicine’s first ever drawing exhibition took place in the anatomical laboratory atDingjiaqiao campus. All of these drawings were from the contestants participated in the first undergraduates Anatomy and Histoembryology Drawing competition of the School of medicine.

The competition was led by the Department of Human Anatomy, School of Medicine and co- organized by the Students Union of School of Medicine , which was supported by theSchool of Medicine, the Academic Affairs Office and the Teaching Department of Southeast University. Since the announcement of the contest in early November, the event has received considerable attention among our students. As of December 30, 2018, the organizing committee of the contest received 65 works created by students from the School of Medicine, School of Public Health, and School of Biomedical Engineering. These drawing diverse in subject matter and in styles, which fully showed the great creative potential and outstanding painting skills of the student and were well appraised by experts and teachers on January 8th. The competition invited senior experts from the School of Medicine and the Academy of Arts as judges, after careful evaluation, a total of 3 first place prizes, 4 second place prizes, 15 third place prizes and 43 honorable mentions were awarded.


Anatomical drawing plays an important role in the teaching of human morphology. This event not only inspires students to learn anatomy and histology, enliven the teaching atmosphere and help students better understand the structure and function of the human body, but also improve student’s ability appreciate art and promote the development of morphological drawing.
