Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Introduction

The department of biochemistry and molecular biology has a total of 13 faculty members, including 3 professors, 5 associate Professors, 3 lecturers and 3 technicians. 10 of them has a Ph. D degree, while 7 of them has researching or studying experience abroad longer than 1 year. Dr. Mao xiaohua is an outstanding young teacher of Jingsu Province QINGLAN project. Dr. Wang dayong was supported by Education Ministry's New Century Excellent Talents Supporting Plan. The discipline of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology was granted the right to confer doctoral degrees.

All faculty members have been actively engaging in the medical and scientific research. In recent 10 years, we have been supported by 10 NSFC grants. And about 53 research articles have been published in SCI journals. 26 postgraduates have successfully graduated from this department. Now there are 20 postgraduates studying for master or doctor degree.

In terms of teaching, this department has opened 10 different courses for the undergraduate and graduate students major in the clinical medicine, public health and biological engineering respectively. The teachers in this department make great efforts in teaching innovation, actively employing the modern teaching devices to enhance the teaching efficiency and quality. An all English course was set up for MBBS students and the graduate students. Besides, we have published textbooks such as Advanced Experimental Course in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Experimental Guidance in Biochemistry.

Neurobiology, Hygienic Toxicity, Molecular Microbiology, Biopharmaceuticals, RNAomics.
